Getting Your Non-Profit or Small Business Ready For Financial Success

On March 23, 2018, non-profit organizers and small business owners gathered for a Financial Audit and Fiscal Management Workshop at Florida International University’s Wolfe Center in North Miami. The Workshop was designed to highlight financial audits and adequate fiscal management as essentials for funding and access to capital. Founder and Director of the Florida Community Development Legal Project, Shahrzad Emami, highlighted the importance of “keeping it legal” when it comes to non-profit governance and focused on best practices and common pitfalls for non-profit organizations.

The Financial Workshop was organized in collaboration with the Community Health & Empowerment Network, Inc., City of North Miami’s Councilman Philippe Bien-Aime and Councilman Alix Desulme, CMS International Group, Corp., the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of Florida, Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce, and North Miami CRA.
